Whether they choose a conventional mean of transportation or experiment something different the result won’t change: the region will strike the traveller with its unconditional and untouched beauty.

Hiking:
Many paths start from Monforte d’Alba and explore the surrounding hills leading to Medieval walled villages. Whether following the Catars footprints or simply wandering in the countryside there are plenty of beautiful spots to discover. These are routes of medium difficulty that lead through various villages, following dirt roads through vineyards, woods and along panoramic hillcrests.

Truffle hunting:
The “trifulau” (truffle hunter) and his dog can lead guests into one of the most fascinating quests and the reward is a precious bulb: the white truffle of Alba.

Horseback riding:
Galopping down the paths of the Langa and Roero on horseback gives a unique perspective of the landscape. One can explore forests, vineyards and pastures on horseback enjoying the historic monuments that distinguish this territory. Raised up on horseback guests can see these resplendent historic residences from a different perspective. It is a truly unique opportunity for anyone who likes being close to nature.

Hot-air balloon:
A different way to discover the area in taking an excursion on a hot air balloon. From a quiet and privileged spot, pushed by the morning breeze, guests will see on the horizon the famous hills at their best.

Golf clinics:
Piedmont is the region for golfing in Italy, the first three best courses of Italy according to the international ranking are located in Piedmont. Whether guests are experienced golfers or have just approached this game they can improve their golfing with the resident coach and within 30 minutes drive from the hotel there are three beautiful 18-holes golf courses

The Langhe on a Vespa:
Explore the area of Le Langhe on a Vespa, the symbol of Italy’s scooters. Drive on the countryside roads and feel like in a movie of the Sixties, and enjoy life at a slower pace.

Visit to a local winery:
Piedmont’s wines are amongst the best reds in the world and on top of all of them there is the Barolo. Here there are many high quality wines that have been awarded international prizes and their limited production means that export is limited. This is an opportunity to taste and perhaps purchase wine which cannot be found abroad especially the ones of smaller wineries.

Jogging routes around Monforte:
There are a number of lovely local jogging and from spring to fall the weather conditions are ideal for this type of exercise. The hotel staff can offer tips on the best mapped out routes.
